Hey everyone! I am reading "Absolutely True Diary" right now and am loving it. It truly is an easy read- written like journal entries and PICTURES! Junior is braver than he thinks, honest and he really makes you see things thru his eyes as a Native American. Also, he's funny and sees humor in some serious situations. Love the part about the excitement of books!
"Absolutely True Diary of an American Indian" may be one of the best books that I have read. Junior's life on the reservation was nothing that I expected. The hardships and successes he sees makes this book a page turner. The conflict of Junior with the Native Americans and White society makes this book relevant to the Social Studies content I teach. Relating the Exploration of the West to Present day. I felt connected with Junior through the book. I laughed when he laughed, I was sad when he was sad and went through death. Great book and would recommend it to anyone.
I really liked this book. I thought though that it would be all humor but it turned sad and a little depressing. "Absolutely True Diary of an American Indian" was amazingly written.
I really liked this book! I loved how it changed moods so often and evoked numerous different emotions as you read. I enjoyed the humor mixed into the sad moments. It was also a good representation of the troubles some people have to face, like bullying and finding your real friends.
This book was amazing! I can definitely relate with being torn between caucasian and native american races. I couldn't put this book down!
I loved the book! "Absolutely True Diary of an American Indian" my favorite chapter was slouching in to thanksgiving! Im excited about the rest of the book we will read!
